About the collective.

Liquified is a Lexington, Kentucky based analog liquid light show and artist's collective working to keep retro liquid light art alive by creating hyper colorful liquid projections using various moire patterns, stencils, and hand-built apparatuses, sometimes hybridized with digital manipulation and projection methods. Liquified members include Brittani Fuller, Jacob Wachal, Adam Downs, Micah Birch, Chris Natale, and Drew Wachal.

Liquified was conceived in 2019 alongside Lexington-based Trevor’s Lightning Project, originally intended to serve as a visual component meant to complement the band’s live performances. Inspired by the rich history of liquid light arts, which has it’s roots in the 1960’s and is still present in today’s psychedelic music scene, Liquified has continued to grow and has since performed at a multitude of concerts, festivals, and arts events with acts that span the diversity of genres explored by visual and performing artists across the regional South.

We love our city and the creative environment and opportunities it fosters, allowing for the provision of unique audio-visual experiences accessible to the community. Our vision is for these instances of collaboration to continue to grow in number with institutional and community support across Appalachia, helping to spearhead the rising Southern Psych movement alongside our closest friends, inspiring other passionate individuals to join us in our efforts to make the South weird.
